CursorPet for Chrome Privacy Policy
CursorPet for Chrome is a local, standalone browser companion. Its single purpose is to render and animate Ducky inside ordinary webpages selected by the user.
Summary
CursorPet handles a limited amount of current-site and user-activity information locally so Ducky can appear and move inside the webpage the user is viewing. This information is not transmitted off the user's device.
CursorPet does not sell or share user data. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, account system, remote API, or external network service.
Local processing
The extension processes the following information locally and only for its user-visible features:
- Pointer coordinates inside the active webpage, classified as user activity, used in memory to follow the pointer, drag Ducky, or recognize a Magic Circle drawn around stationary Ducky. Raw pointer coordinates and gesture samples are not persisted.
- The current active tab URL and origin, classified as web history/current-site information, used to determine whether the page is supported and to apply the user's per-site enable/disable preference.
- Focused Chrome window dimensions, used only in memory to detect a size change and choose a pushing or pulling animation.
- Page visibility and tab/window activation state, used to stop animation work in background tabs.
CursorPet does not read or store webpage text, document contents, form values, passwords, authentication information, cookies, downloads, or a list of browsing history. Raw pointer coordinates, Magic Circle gesture samples, window dimensions, and animation state are not persisted. When the user manually places stationary Ducky, only the resulting normalized viewport position is saved as a local preference.
Information stored on the device
CursorPet uses chrome.storage.local for:
- Show/hide preference.
- Pet size.
- Pointer-following, Magic Circle, window-rest, and resize-reaction preferences.
- Selected pet identifier.
- The user-chosen stationary pet position, stored as two normalized viewport coordinates rather than raw pointer activity.
- Website origins the user has explicitly disabled through Enable on This Site.
This information remains in the user's local Chrome profile and is not sent to CursorPet or any third party. Users can clear it with Reset Settings or by removing the extension.
Website access
CursorPet installs without required website access. If the user selects Enable Ducky Everywhere in the toolbar popup, Chrome asks for optional access to normal http:// and https:// websites. After approval, CursorPet uses that access only to insert its click-through visual layer and receive pointer coordinates inside the active page for following, stationary dragging, and local Magic Circle recognition. It does not run on protected Chrome pages or the Chrome Web Store. If Chrome or the user has not granted site access, CursorPet remains off on that page.
Third parties and remote code
CursorPet does not share information with third parties and does not load or execute remote code. All JavaScript, images, animation frames, and configuration used by the extension are packaged with the extension.
Data retention and deletion
Transient information such as pointer coordinates, Magic Circle gesture samples, and window dimensions is discarded during normal runtime and is never persisted. The normalized stationary-pet position and other local settings remain until the user resets them, clears extension storage, or removes CursorPet.
Children's privacy
CursorPet does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users. The extension contains no account, messaging, advertising, or payment functionality.

Changes
If CursorPet's data practices change, this policy, the public privacy-policy page, and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before the changed behavior is released.
Chrome Web Store publication note
The Chrome Web Store submission must link to a publicly accessible copy of this policy. The public policy must match the behavior of the submitted extension package. Public-site deployment is maintained independently from this extension repository.
